John Blackbourn: Contributor Night #1 – Team Core

The Contributor Nights will be dedicated to studying and working together: every month we will select one of the active teams on make.wordpress.org. For some teams we can count on the support of Italian and foreign leads, while for others we will manage with the studio, reading the documentation, going to see what are the active discussions on trac and on Slack.

For this first evening we are happy to have with us John Blackbourn, WordPress engineer at Human Made and one of the WordPress Core developer, who will help us to discover the Core team.

WordCamp Video Highlight 2018/04/06

It is always good to see content submitted from unexpected sources in the WordPress Community!

The WordPress Global Community Team recently submitted 4 videos to WordPress TV that targeted WordPress Meetup organizers. These conversations stemmed from the recognition that a number of Meetups groups are struggling or have been abandoned. The videos were recorded using Zoom.

Generally our meetings start with 2 different talks where we try to keep one talk developer focused with enough tech and code. The other talk is directed to a broader audience with more informative that is also use full without touching a line of code. We always close the evening with socializing, drinks and snacks.

WordPress Community Interview With Francesca Marano

Francesca Marano is a WordPress professional, community junkie, author, educator. She enjoys speaking/attending WordCamps and Meetups.

She is the founder of the website C+B, a blog for Italian female creative entrepreneurs, with an editorial staff of more than 50 professionals offering advice to women who work on their own. The website has 40,000 readers.

Francesca is a Deputy with the Community Team and helps mentor people in their efforts to organize WordCamps and Meetups.

She is also one of the organizers of WordCamp Torino and is active in the WordPress Torino Meetup group.

There is some lag between the audio and video. I tried to fix it but I was just making it worse.
