WordCamp Video Highlight 2017/06/09

Several months ago, the WordPress TV Team asked for videos from Meetups and Testimonials. We are very please with the videos that have been submitted!

WordCamp Video Highlight 2017/03/17

Survey

Before I get to the featured videos for this week, I wanted to call attention to the Editor Experience Survey. The survey is being conducted to learn how people use the wp-admin editor to create their content.

The survey only takes a few minutes (honest!!!) and can be accessed through this link: http://wordpressdotorg.polldaddy.com/s/editor-survey.

Testimonials

Testimonial videos continue to be submitted. The two featured below were recorded recently by Bridget Willard at the Orange County Women Who Wp meeting.

Jonny Allbut: Making WordPress Menus Smarter

This video was submitted from WordCamp Manchester 2016.

“WordPress editable menus rock – they empower the user to really take control of their website. I’ll demonstrate a ‘few tricks of the trade’ that I use to make them work even smarter, including filtering, custom menu walker classes and more.”

Slides for the presentation can be seen HERE.

WordCamp Video Highlight 2017/03/10

On March 1st, Bridget Willard of the Marketing Team made a call to action and asked for Meetup Video Testimonials.

“Can you take a few moments to record a video testimonial with one of the attendees at each of your meetups? Nothing fancy, no special cameras, microphones or glaring lights. Just a camera phone and a good, honest story that will inspire others as they search for how to use WordPress for their own projects.”

In just a few days three videos testimonials have been published on WordPress TV.

Meetup Testimonial Costa Rica

This video is interesting in that hearing impaired people who participated in the WordCamp San Jose 2016 and 2017 meetups gave testimonies.

WordPress Meetup Chandigarh

Two videos came out of this meetup.

Alok Jain and his WordPress Story

Man Deep’s WordPress Story

Another member of the Marketing Team, Dave Navarro, says that impromptu videos are best.

“I work for a TV and Radio station in the midwest and I can tell you, from experience, that unpolished raw video has more of an impact on most people in social media than polished professional video.”

With all of the devices that are available to record video, don’t be afraid to take a few minutes to shoot testimonials and upload to WordPress TV.

WordCamp Video Highlight 2016/12/23

This week we feature two videos that highlight marketing techniques.

Sarah Moore: Social Media Marketing with Video in 2016

WordCamp Sunshine Coast 2016 was held at the Innovation Centre at Sippy Downs in Queensland Australia on May 7th and 8th of this year.

In this presentation Sarah looks at the current social media marketing trend (which is here to stay) – video marketing (included throughout the presentation are statistics and case studies).

Slides for her presentation can be found HERE.

Erik Bernskiöld: Content Marketing Done Right For Everybody

WordCamp Stockholm 2016 was held at the Waterfront Congress Centre in Stockholm, Sweden on November 22nd and 23rd.

In today’s world, it is all about content marketing. Doing it right means thinking about a lot of different things.

Slides for his presentation can be found HERE.

Now for a bonus video!

WordCamp Sunshine Coast Testimonials

Troy Dean of Melbourne Australia likes to record testimonial videos while he attends WordCamps. Troy spent some time at WordCamp Sunshine Coast 2016 talking with people and getting their thoughts about WordCamps.

Thanks Troy! I appreciate your hard work.

WordPress Community Interview With Troy Dean

Troy Dean had submitted a testimonial video to WordPress TV a few weeks ago. I thought it was very well done and interesting, so I did a C&C (contact and connect) and the result is the video interview below.

Troy resides in Melbourne, Australia and is the Director of Cool and co-founder at Video User Manuals Pty Ltd. Video User Manual is a video tutorial plug-in to teach clients how to use WordPress. He is also co-founded WP Elevation, the world’s first business accelerator program for WordPress consultants. He is a regular speaker at WordCamps.

Troy talks about the WordPress Community and gives tips for first time speakers. We also discuss issues facing the volunteers at WordCamps who are setting up video cameras to record sessions.

WordCamp Video Highlight 2016/10/28

Troy Dean from Melbourne, Australia submitted this 5 minute video that was shot during WordCamp Sydney 2016. Over 250 people attended the two day event. The video crew asked a series of questions to WordCamp attendees, speakers and volunteers. I recently tried to do a testimonial video at a recent WordCamp but my work pales in comparison to this video. Fantastic video folks!

This presentation by Felix Arntz was given at WordCamp Antwerp 2016 and covers Multisite and Multinetwork WordPress installations. Felix gives an introduction, then talks about the benefits of using multisite and then covers developer guidelines.

Slides for the presentation can be found HERE.
