WordPress Community Interview With Luca Sartoni

Luca is Protector of Asynchronicity at Automattic, currently based in Vienna Austria. He is a media professional with more than a decade of technical and marketing expertise. Thanks to his extensive experience in business environments ranging from SMEs to large corporate projects, Luca helps companies scale up by implementing data-driven strategies.

Luca is an organizer for  WordCamp Europe 2017 and is leading the Volunteer Team, which comprises of 7 people. They are expected to have over 250 people volunteer for this event. Have you heard of ‘herding cats?’

We talk abut the several different roles that volunteers fill for this huge event.

Luca also talks about the Code or Conduct, which is a tool for WordCamp organizers to use to outlines the expectations for participant behavior as well as the consequences for unacceptable behavior.

WordCamp Video Highlight 2017/02/03

The WordPress TV Team has started the process of making videos available on YouTube. The official WordPress TV YouTube Channel can be seen HERE. Currently there are 200 videos available for viewing, with more being uploaded every day. The videos are grouped into Playlists to make them easier to find. The majority of videos are from WordCamp Europe and WordCamp US.

Lesley Molecke: Changing the world, one WordPress at a time – Building a firm serving nonprofits

Lesley is the co-founder of a boutique WordPress agency, Cornershop Creative, which focuses on helping nonprofit and small business customers set and meet their goals online.

Prior to founding Cornershop Creative, Lesley managed enterprise-level CMS rollouts for both the City of Albuquerque and the Albuquerque Public Schools (one of the largest districts in the US) in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Lesley and her co-founders have turned a pipe dream of a business into a reality that employs 10 remote employees, and helps more than 100 nonprofit customers each year.

Maile Ohye: A View From Google – The Latest in Google And Google

Hear Google’s latest stats on searcher and mobile trends, as well as how we’re trying to connect searchers with good content. Maile joined Google in 2005.She works on Google Search as a Developer Programs Tech Lead. A few of her projects include rel=”canonical” (co-author of the IETF RFC), and rel=”next” and rel=”prev” for paginated content.

Prior to Google, Maile was a systems integrator specializing in content management systems for organizations including AT&T and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. She earned a B.A. in Cognitive Science with a Computer Science emphasis from the University of California at Berkeley.
