WordCamp US is two weeks past and the videos are rolling into WordPress TV.

Apparently one of the presentations that created a lot of buzz was Morten Rand-Hendriksen and his talk on the Gutenberg Editor.

Also, you can find additional information on his personal blog HERE.

In the short time that I have been involved in WordPress, I have been impressed with the people that are involved in setting up KidCamps. One of my favorite people is Sandy Edwards She gave the following presentation.

Sandy Edwards: Kids and Code: The Facts and The Future

This session is all about kids and code. We will discuss why you should teach your kids to code. We will cover how to teach your kids to code. We will even talk about how to keep your young bloggers safe online.

WordPress Community Interview With Sandy Edwards

Sandy Edwards resides in Florida and is a WordPress Guru, Local SEO Pro and Marketing Master. She has created and manages websites for crafters, bloggers, small businesses and bands. Sandy helps people with local Search Engine Optimization(SEO), on page SEO, and SEO Rich Content Writing.

She is an advoctae of involving kids in WordPress and technology. WordCamps for Kids involves children in ages ranging from 6 to 14 and teaches them not only about blogging and content creation but also covers HTML, CSS and coding. Sandy has been involved in WordCamps for Kids in Miami, Orlando and Tampa.

Sandy explains to parents that a child posting information of where they live, the school they attend, and the sports teams they are on are all bad ideas. There are ways to lock down the WordPress site so that the rest of the internet can not access their child’s website. She states that “Kids are bombarded from every angle with media and created content. They should also be able to dive into the content creation world themselves“.
