Rachel Carden: Tools and Techniques for Evaluating Accessibility

When your website is accessible, all users can access your content no matter their abilities. Visually-impaired users can visit your website using a screen reader. Those who can’t use the mouse can navigate your site using a keyboard or other input device. Some accessibility features might also improve your SEO. When your site is inaccessible, research shows you could be excluding up to 20 percent of your users. This talk for all skill levels will review tools and techniques you can use to test and improve your site’s accessibility.

WordPress Community Interviews – Michael Wiginton & Chris Lema

Several weeks ago the WordPress TV team members kicked around the idea of interviewing people in the WordPress Community. Several different ideas were discussed such as recording methods, length of the interviews, types of questions, etc. As far as “who” to interview, it was decided that anybody who could stand to talk to us for 5 to 10 minutes would be a suitable candidate.

Michael Wiginton

Michael has been with the WPTV team for over 4 years. I wanted Michael to be the first interviewee because he has been a tremendous help to me since I began my involvement with WPTV. Michael also volunteers with WordCamp Atlanta.

WordCamp San Francisco 2014: State of the Word Keynote

The first WordCamp ever was held in San Francisco nine years ago (2006) as a way for WordPress users and developers to meet, share knowledge, and learn from one another. Since that time these informal community-run events have grown and spread across the globe, but to this day WordCamp San Francisco is considered the event of the year for WordPress lovers everywhere.
